Regional cooperation to counter-ISIS the case of KRG (Kurdistan regional government)
Thesis statement
The current world has been characterized by an increase in terrorism cases in different parts of the world. Most of the terror cases have been attributed to the increase in the number of individuals being recruited to different terrorist groups in different parts of the world. The ISIS has been considered as one of the largest terror groups in the world that has been executing attacks in different parts of the world. This terror group has been using advanced attack methods when executing its attacks, something that has made it impossible for governments to predict their likely attack time. Increased attacks have led to the need for better counter-attack strategies to be developed by the most affected governments. The development of a regional cooperation has been considered very important in helping the affected regions to deal with the ISIS menace adequately. Regional cooperation to counter the ISIS menace in the Kurdistan region will be highly beneficial for the region.
Thesis outline
This research will be sub-divided into seven chapters. The first chapter will introduce the research topic by giving some background information on what has been done to counter terrorism in different parts of the world before narrowing it to the Kurdistan region. The second chapter will give an overview of the existing literature about the topic. Literature on all the techniques that have been applied to solve terror issues will be provided, and regional cooperation techniques will also be discussed in this section. Additionally, literature on the impacts of the ISIS terror attacks in the region and some of the techniques that are being employed by the terrorists will also be discussed in this section. A summary of the gaps that have been left by the existing literature will be presented at the end of the second chapter.
The third chapter will be a detailed discussion of the methods that will be used to obtain the right data and information about the study topic. Both data collection and analysis process will be discussed in this section. The forth chapter will give a detailed discussion on all the strategies that are being applied by the Kurdistan regional government to deal with the issue of terrorism in the region. All the policies that have been developed for purposes of improving the security state in the region will also be discussed in details in this section. Additionally, the effectiveness of the techniques and policies that have been adopted by the government will also be discussed in this section. Determining the effectiveness of what is currently being applied will offer the right information on what needs to be done to improve the techniques in question. The effectiveness of the proposed regional cooperation in dealing with the ISIS issue will also be discussed in this section.
The last section in this chapter will be a detailed presentation of the recommendations that could be applied to improve the general state of the research findings. The conclusion of the study will be in chapter five of the thesis. A detailed summary of the findings and discussion on the findings will be offered in this chapter. Any individual views on the topic that are not captured in the major paper will also be highlighted in this section. The final part of the conclusion will give recommendations for further research on the topic.
