Black Lives Matter

According to the Movement for Black Lives Platform statement on the official website of the organization (https://policy.m4bl.org/platform/), the organization came about from the gathering of various organizations that represent black people across America. The common vision shared by the organizations provides them with an improved platform for bargaining with the government to introduce superior policies. Black people have played an important role in the making of today’s United States yet their input has not been reciprocated in kind over the years. This is also witnessed in the treatment of other marginalized communities such as Muslims, women, and the transgender community. The article notes that it was feasibly impossible to fight for the rights of black people while disregarding the rights of these other marginalized groups across the world. The process of reconciliation should begin with the government accepting their role in the wrong-doing and initiate reparation programs. The process of creating an equal environment for all people irrespective of any differences in culture or religion will happen over a long period of time. However, it is possible to start with the reformulation of policies that impact the current conditions of the marginalized communities.
