Countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and some territories of Australia, in addition to the state of Oregon, are places where the practice of euthanasia is legal. The jurisdictions of these nations make efforts to make the practice legal.  A good example is in the United Kingdom, where the parliament recently introduced a bill to introduce the practice of euthanasia. Lord Joffe introduced the bill and through the opinion polls, the public approved it into law.
