. In my view, one of the ways to encourage physicians and hospitals to hold down medical costs is report writing. There is a need to include report writing at the end of every medical report of a patient. This move is important since it will raise questions to the oversight bodies, in any event, there will be an anomaly in the treatment extended. For instance, the report will advice why the medical practitioner chose to apply a certain medical process, while there was a cheaper alternative. The occurrence of an abnormal tendency in healthcare service provision must open an inquiry on the practice. The other approach will be to invite physicians and hospitals in symposiums, where alternatives to the existing expensive methods will be discussed. The hospitals and physicians could also sign a memorandum of understanding to adhere to certain pact during the symposiums or meetings. Implementation of the above approaches must be by an independent body.
