After choosing a new website hosting company, when one wants to move their website, it is important that they back up all their data on their old website. Backing up the data is the first step of migrating to any new website after the host has been chosen. Secondly, one needs to check for missing links, database errors and other changes such as site structure changes in the new website to determine what goes where and to make necessary adjustments to enable a smooth migration of the site’s code and data. The third step involves switching the DNS records from the old records to the new records and waiting for the changes made to propagate. This involves switching the name server from the old host to the new host (Chen et al., 2015). The primary benefits of Dick’s new system are that it has more security. Security is implied in the structure and development of the website including the nature of security provided by the database that has been used to hold user data Furthermore, Dick’s new system has increased functionalities which enables the users to move around the website and interact with the different data and web pages to gain information for their purchase decisions (Einav et al., 2014).
