Racism is treating some people to be superior or inferior to others based on their racial differences. The race factors often used for sidelining is the skin color, place of birth and language. The people believed to be inferior are then set apart from the superior and are given last priority. Victims of racism are abused and harassed because they are believed to be less deserving (Lauren, 2018). Advocates justify their views by: pronouncing that the so-believed inferior groups are less endowed that others in cognitive ability (Lauren, 2018). This claim has been used to treat the less inferior as unfit to lead or guide because their intellectual capacity is low. They believe that the superior group are the ones to take the lead because they can think and handle issues appropriately. Secondly is claiming biological dangers resulting from interbreeding (Lauren, 2018). They explain that children born from mixed race are more vulnerable to diseases which leads to short life span. They claim that interracial breeding leads to genetic incompatibilities because the offspring are less inferior intellectually to both parents. Finally is the claim that racial discrimination is an essential part of effective evolution because members of different races naturally repels and this is necessary for civilization. They explain that individuals are not sidelined but rather groups and thus races should be kept separate for evolution process to progress (Lauren, 2018). The advocates justified the first and second views using scientific explanations which were disapproved not long after. The last claim has not evidence to support it. Reference Lauren, P. G. (2018).
