How did the Aztecs come to be erased from history given their prowess and importance to the Kingdoms that ruled at the time?

According to Ellen Miller (161), the rise and rule of the Aztecs is well documented since their arrival in Tenochtutlan and migration to Lake Texcoco. The Aztecs were feared warriors who fought for money and glory only. During their stay at Tenochtitlan, they butchered the royal bride and used her skin for religious tradition. From this excerpt, we note the savagery of the Aztecs and how they quickly made enemies out of friends. As such, it is important to find out how the Aztecs dynasty came to an end, especially given the uncertainty that surrounds the issue; amid rumours of environmental change or that they were defeated in war.
