Overview

This assignment repeats the pattern established in Units 3 and 4. Looking back at the ethical theory used to analyze a case study in the unit discussion, evaluate it as a framework for analysis. Taking into account perspectives relevant to public health ethics, does the ethical theory function well as the foundation for analyzing a case study? Again, activate the feedback you have received on previous assignments to strengthen your paper. You must develop an argument for or against the ethical theory used to analyze the case study in the unit discussion.

This assignment will be a source of ideas for completing your course project.

Assignment Instructions

Analyze the theory of ethical reasoning used in your case study analysis in the Unit 5 discussion. 

• Consider the ethical perspectives relevant to the public health issue in your case study. Assess whether the theory provides satisfactory answers to the issue from the relevant perspectives.
• Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the approach you used in the case study, in terms of internal coherency and practical use.
• Defend the conclusion you reached in the case study by answering counterarguments.

At least two scholarly resources from the Capella library are required as support of your statements. Note that textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and most Internet materials are not considered scholarly resources. Use the "What Is Scholarly?" library resource (linked in the Resources) to help you find scholarly materials.
