It would need to be 4,500 words and need to cover one of these topics:

1. Drawing from films in at least two different units, discuss the similarities

and differences between documentary and ethnographic film.

2. Compare and contrast: the camera as an ethnographic tool for Margaret

Mead and Jean Rouch.

3. Explore issues of representation in observational film and shared

anthropology.

4. Discuss early forms of political cinema and their influence on ethnographic

film.

5. Does visual anthropology need a code of ethics? Discuss and include film

examples from the course to support your arguments.

6. In what ways do subject-generated films challenge traditional ethnographic

films?
Of course, it will need to have academic citations.
