Introduction

English is the globally dominant language in regards to business and intertwining different cultures. In most instances, immigrants’ children in the U.S possess their native languages, in addition to English as their second language. Bilingualism refers to the ability of children or adults to converse proficiently in both languages, or dominantly in one language in comparison with the other. Monolingualism has been arguing on the issue of bilingualism, by raising their concerns about the relationship between the two language systems in the same mind. In this case, are there any differences in areas of the mind between a person who knows one language and bilinguals?

This paper will compare bilingual and monolingual adolescents on the memory task, delay tasks by using peer-review articles.

Bilingualism Review

 Typical classification of bilingualism as per researchers includes simultaneous, receptive, and sequential bilingualism. Under simultaneous bilingualism, children learn two languages simultaneously as their first lingo. On the other hand, receptive bilinguals understand two languages but are their communication is mostly with their dominant language. This type of bilingualism is common with individuals in countries or regions where there is recognition of two official languages. Sequential bilingualism is a common feature in the adulthood, where an individual attempt to learn a new foreign language after establishing themselves with their first languages.
