Mr Drum written by Henry Nzumal (Mr Drum) on labor issues in African farms during the Apartheid. The Newspaper named Drum edited by Anthony Sampson informed the world about the suffering of the Africans during the Apartheid rule in South Africa.  The reporter Mr. Drum would expose the difficult situations of African life shedding light on the problems being experienced. According to Worden (), the ‘Mineral Revolution’ led to fundamental changes in the Cape economy and society of towns and countryside. This document was written to reveal the truth about famer’s experiences including signing of contracts, recruitment practices, and other troubles the laborers faced. For instance, the laborers were to sign a contract that had terms of work but only held a pencil for a few second. As such, they were not protected by the union and other issues such as under 18 employees.
