Chronic illnesses are the most prevalent health issues in Ontario County, New York. The leading health problems in this county are heart diseases, cancer, and lower respiratory diseases. These health issues are mainly caused by unhealthy living lifestyles. The incidence and prevalence of the chronic illnesses have been on the increase in the county in the recent years (CDC, 2017). The public health sector has taken various approaches towards reducing the prevalence of these chronic illnesses. These strategies include increasing the industry's capacity to deal with the chronic illnesses, reducing the exposure of the population to health issues, and improving health equity (Bauer et. al, 2014).
