R​‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍​emember for this course we are focusing on the use of conceptual frameworks or theories which guide their research and practice change initiatives. So be sure to look at the frameworks and theories being use and you will critique the value of frameworks and theories to nursing to find a nursing scholar you can approach this assignment in several ways: 1) Find the topic and see what names are coming up as scholars interested in this topic over years. This requires a literature search. 2) Look at websites of such Universities as the University of Pennsylvania, Washington State University, University of South Florida, New York University (large research universities) and find the research page or the PhD program to see what topics are being studied by faculty. You can than trace the program of research for a particular faculty through a literature search. 3) Here is a list of people I know who have studied over years various topics: a) Linda Aiken (organizational nursing) b) Christine Kovner (nursing work and policy) c) Joanne Youngblut (grieving parents, children and grandparents) d) Betty Ferrell (Oncology) ​‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍​e) Susan McMillan (Hospice and Palliative Care) f) Cheryl Beck (Post partum depression) . 4) You would need to do a literature search for research studies they have conducted in a field of interest and what theories they may use in either power point slide format, or as a handout the response to the following questions: a) Method of searching for a program of research in your specialty (Nursing). b) prior knowledge or identification of scholars in your specialty or search of a University Faculty to identify a scholar. c) Search for articles published by a particular scholar- name the data bases searched, years of the search- can go back 15 years, and topics identified by a literature search of the scholar. d) Review of 3-5 articles of the scholar to identify the conceptual/theoretical frameworks or theories they use to base their research. Name the theories and the related research questions asked. 5) Summary statement regarding the name of the scholar, the number of years a scholar has been working on this program, topics and sub-topics in the program of research, and conceptual frameworks or theories used​‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍​.
