Description: Write a 700 to 1000 word paper about a specific wine region from any place in the world.    Be as specific as you can when you choose your region, such as Rioja, Spain or Los Carneros, CA. The paper should include the region's history, climate, soils, cultivars, GDDs, vineyard production practices such as leaf pulling, training systems and/or rootstocks/clones (if you cannot find info, please use a neighboring region or the whole country and state that!), types of grapes grown, and common wine styles/vinification practices such as carbonic maceration or whole cluster press.   No outlines, please. Paper must be written clearly & concisely, with complete sentences, good grammar and spelling. Proofread, please!   Please use at least three references to produce this paper, and cite your statements appropriately.  At least one of your sources should be a primary (scholarly) source from a journal such as American Journal of Enology and Viticulture. Two of your sources may be web pages but no '.com' sites of wineries. You could use a ‘.com’ site, but be careful about evaluating them. The ‘.coms’ are the least reliable of websites, probably, so only use them if you absolutely must, and don’t use them for all of your sources.
