(Mendis S, 2011) To achieve optimal health, the median BMI for adult populations should be in the range of 21–23 kg/m2, while the goal for individuals should be to maintain a BMI in the range 18.5–24.9 kg/m2.1. Obesity is strongly related to major cardiovascular risk factors such as raised blood pressure. Losing weight will reduce the amount of workload on the heart and also help to lower blood pressure. In addition, inactivity also places many Americans at high risk. In addition to reducing or eliminating the amount of fast food consumed; doing moderate physical exercising four to five days a week for at least 30 minutes each day - for example he could do brisk walking, swimming, cycling, dancing or gardening could help with controlling obesity (Mendis S, 2011)
