Personality
is defined as the unique way an
individual perceives and approaches life as manifested in their emotions, thoughts, and activities (Mroczek& Spiro,
2007). I took the short version of a Big Five test that gave me a profile on my
personality traits. I answered questions on the personality quiz platform that
gave me a profile of my impressions on others. The profile is an overview of
how others perceive me as a result of the impression I create on them. The psychic
guild platform yielded the detailed Taurus profilefor people who hold the sign.
In this essay I will give an assessment of the three profiles I obtained,
making comparisons to my personal perspective.
To
begin with, I agree with most of the aspects of
my personality traits profile obtained as I feel it well represents who I am. The
profile is classified under the Big Five model that represents the major
dimensions of personality traits (Soto et al. 2010). In the openness to
experience/intellect dimension, I feel the results are not true. The profile
has rated me to be somewhat conventional implying that I have narrow interests
and often uncreative. On the contrary, I feel a neutral ground better defines
my position because even though I am not too complex and too curious, I believe
I have a relatively wide range of interests and also creative.
The
other profile ratings are reflective of who I am and hence true. In the
category of conscientiousness, the profile rates me as very well organized and
reliable which is a true reflection. I am relatively social and enjoy the
company of other people, and that’s what
the profile has yielded and hence true. In the agreeableness, I believe I am
not too irritable and find difficulty forgiving sometimes. The profile states
that I am neither too forgiving nor irritable and hence a true reflection. In
neuroticism, I have been rated as a calm and able to remain so intense situations. This is also true because I am not easily angered o jump to
conclusions without comprehending all the facts. Therefore, the profile has
most of the aspects truthfully represented.
In
the impressions test, I had a score of 48. The analysis is that my friends view
me as fresh, charming and practical. They view me as someone popular although
composed and unpretentious. I am also viewed
as understanding and reliable in time of need. The profile is true except for
the perspective of popularity as I am not too talkative,
and I am relatively sociable. I am not as popular. For the astrological
profile, it contains true aspects of my personality for instance; it is true
that I desire to have a secure, happy and financially stable marriage and life
as well.
