In
the book both Sonny and the brother are portrayed as caring and affectionate. The brother says, "I was scared, scared
for Sonny"(122). This goes to show
that he minds about sonnies welfare and even empathize with him when Sonny
seems to be in problems. He is also affectionate towards Sonny as he puts it,”Then
I kept in constant touch with him and I sent him whatever I could and I went to
meet him when he came back to New York”
Through
his latter, Sonny has been portrayed as affectionate due to the fact that he
decides to reconnect with his brother by communicating. Is has also been
strongly portrayed by the way he wards the letter. He writes, "You don’t
know how much I need to hear from you"(127)
Both
are portrayed as remorseful. The brother is remorseful about his perception and
misjudgment of Sonny’s friend. The truth downed on him and he gets to have a
clear picture of the boy. This is evident when he says, “All at once something
inside gave and threatened to come pouring out of me, I didn’t hate him anymore.
I felt in another moment id start crying like a child. ” (126). Through Sonny’s
later it is seen that he is remorseful. He seems to regret about how much he
