The First Amendment and What it means for the Relationship between Religion and Society

America is regarded by other foreign countries to lack a state religion. By definition, a state religion is one which has been inculcated into the citizens of a given state as a matter of public policy. The separation of church and state in America is highly attributed to the First Amendment that states that the Congress shall not support any established religion or the practice of it. Furthermore, Congress will not also be allowed by the law to prohibit actions towards practicing of a given religion. This law has been the sole definition of church and state in the whole of America. The issue of this existing separation as defined by the First Amendment reflects not only to the Christian religion but also other religions as well.
