In the work environment, diversity refers to the differences

For example, in a
multi-national organization, diversity
refers to the cultural, ethnic, educational, social, age differences
that occur among the people situated in the organization. Therefore, in a broader view of diversity, it is located in almost
every single organization in the world that aims at growing into a multi-national organization
and conduction international business.
Diversity
is of many types.
Conventionally, tit is categorized into three broad categories. The categories include demography, psychologically and
organizational. In the demographic group,
diversity can take many forms (Giunchiglia et al., 2012).
Some of the common demographic diversity include age, ethnicity and gender. An organization
is bound to have people of different ages. Some may be in their
twenty’s, some in their thirty’s and
some in their fifties. Furthermore,
an organization cannot survive
with individuals of one gender
alone. Due to the gender equality policies
in many countries, an organization is bound to have people
of different genders. Moreover, an organization must have people coming
from different ethnic backgrounds.
Therefore, diversity in the nature of demography cannot be avoided in any organization.
