1) Tap into your personal experience and describe times when you were highly motivated to learn something and times when you were clearly not, but had to.  What was the difference?  What was the outcome? What can you learn from your experiences that will guide your training/teaching?

2) Conduct a brief case study of someone's behavior, perceptions, attitudes during a training/learning situation and the outcomes (this would probably mean that yo would also interview them). Please see the questions in option one to help guide your thinking. (Note: given this is simply a class assignment, IRB review would not be required).

Parameters:  This is not designed to be a major paper.  The goal is to get you thinking about motivation for and roadblocks to learning. Please include a cover sheet for your paper. My guess is that this might be a 2-3 page paper. Single space and 10-12 point type is fine.
