Female genital Mutilation is a very touching topic that has been in the news for years. The popularity of this topic or action is not in the goodness of it but the brutality faced by the people that undergo it. Most importantly, the action involve disfiguring of the female genitals in a traditional or cultural exercise. In most African cultures the act is considered as a rite of passage into adulthood. The act is in itself an abomination regardless of the cultural importance it holds for some traditions and cultures indigenous to Africa (Ray, 2011).
