Begin by choosing an event reported in the news. Pick a news event that is large enough to get the attention of at least two media organizations locally, regionally, nationally or internationally. Find the event\'s coverage of two news organizations. They could both be online news, or one broadcast and the other online, or one in print the other broadcast, and so on. But you cannot pick the same news organization in two different media (like CBS news online and the CBS Evening News at 6:30 p.m. on TV).Compare how your chosen news event is differently portrayed, or framed, by the two news outlets. Be certain you consult the additional resources on Moodle, and any additional resources you need, to fully engage with framing theory. How do the news organizations cover the news event similarly and/or differently? What specific wording do you see in the two stories that indicate a different frame (angle, approach, position)? Make sure your point is supported by several instances in the news story (not one expression or word choice only).Investigate the gatekeepers in these two news outlets and analyze why they frame the news event as they do. Gatekeeping refers to the process through which information is filtered for dissemination, whether for publication, broadcasting, the Internet, or some other mode of communication. This includes editors and producers, all the way to ownership levels.Requirements:You must use APA Style for your references and citation (please note this is different than AP style, which is to be used in the news stories, and the AP quizzes, as the style of choice for news organizations).3-4 pagesDouble spaced, font size 12 (Garamond, Times New Roman, Arial are fine; don\'t use something that\'s unusually small or unusually large). You must upload either a Word (.doc, .docx) or Adobe (.pdf) file. Moodle cannot read documents created in Pages.
