In your analysis ask yourself questions like: What is the significance, context, meaning, etc. of this document? What do you think the author intended when they wrote this? What purpose was this document supposed to serve? Why was it written? What other texts does this document seem to relate to? Etc. Remember, this is a document analysis, not a summary. Do not merely summarize what the document says.



You Must:

When answering the above questions such as: why this document was written you must use evidence from the document itself to back up your arguments and assertions. For example: ask yourself what evidence in the document itself backs up your claims that it was written for a certain reason, against another document, etc. Never make claims without backing them up with evidence.
