Denounced by His Party as a Nazi, Arthur Jones wins the Illinois G.O.P
Congressional Primary.
Liam stack, who is the New York Times political editor wrote a very interesting article titled
Denounced by His Party as a Nazi, Arthur Jones wins the Illinois G.O.P Congressional Primary. The author
claims that Arthur Jones won the primaries even after the Republican Party he was using to vie denounced
him claiming he was Nazi. Arthur Jones had been known for his strong Nazi stands and support for white
supremacy since later days in the 1970s. The article states that Arthur was a long-serving member of the
American Nazi Party. However, in his campaign website according to the article, Arthur Jones asserts that
the Nazi things are now in the past.
The article reports that Mr. Jones who is now aged 70, had unsuccessfully bided for nominations five
times before he won the recent one. He successfully won the nomination after the party failed to draft
another candidate. However, Mr. Arthur was denounced, and the Republican Party had distanced itself away
from Mr. Jones. In addition, the article claims that the Illinois Republican Party is now distributing fliers and
robocalls all over the district urging voters to stop Illinois Nazi by skipping Jones name during the polls day.
Similarly, the party has vowed to channel in money in support of an independent candidate as announced by
the Republican Party spokesman in Illinois and reported in the article.
Although as per the article the Congressional District of Illinois has never been represented by a
Republican since 1975, Republicans are ready to wait for little longer than allow Mr. Jones in. Few people
side with Mr. Jones and even Mr. Jonathan Greenblatt who works as an executive at Anti-Defamation
League claims that Mr. Jones is an extremist.
