The topic for conducting the in-depth interview is about a self-made entrepreneur. The reason for investigating a self-made entrepreneur is to understand how and what made them choose to be entrepreneurs. Besides, I needed to understand the challenges and importance of being an entrepreneur since they are a rare breed to be found in society. One must have high confidence levels, risk tolerance, self-discipline, and determination so as to start a business and oversee it succeed. The dynamics are vast and every entrepreneur keeps learning each day (Jun, 2017). I admired self-made entrepreneurs since entrepreneurs might come from myriad backgrounds and personal support structures. These self-made entrepreneurs started their business from scratch and were handed a business neither a trust fund. They took an idea or utilized their talent to come up with a viable business.

This in-depth interview is important to me because to be a self-made entrepreneur, it means someone rose from the ground and every successful entrepreneur might have once lived with nothing. I was interested in the challenges and what made them be entrepreneurs instead of doing something else. I also have ambitions to be an entrepreneur someday and this interview will equip me with the necessary information and to understand the pros and cons of this risky venture. In addition, I used to admire self-made entrepreneur because they were able to beat many odds to be in the position they are right now. They always give a captivating story but no one is interested in their failures, only the success part of the story. Everyone should care because of their self-determination and hard work that made them who they are now. Some of them are great business people in the society whom everyone admires to associate themselves with.

The interview schedule was created considering the type of candidate and the allocated time for the interview. In addition, I prepared a list of questions with different objectives, to understand the background information, what skills and talents they have, how they made to be self-made entrepreneurs and their future plan. The list of questions set was not supposed to fetch yes or no answers, but they were open-ended that were relevant to the topic of study. As I prepared the schedule, I was ready for uncertain delays and always left some buffer time.
