Introduction
William Shakespeare remains one of the most significant writers of all times. The writer is famous
for a number of literary works. The most famous of his works is Romeo and Juliet. The popularity of the
play is because of the main theme of love, and the climax of the play.
Play Analysis
Romeo and Juliet play revolves around the love displayed by two teenagers. Romeo and Juliet are in
powerful love despite the fact that their union faces objection from either side of the families. The families
of Montague and Capulets of Romeo and Juliet respectively have been having historical misunderstandings.
The situation meant that children and the grandchildren of the two families were supposed not to get along.
The fact that Romeo got attracted to Juliet suggests that the former would have to be around his love event to
some of the parties hosted by the Capulets. The two teenagers were to defy the existing agreement, where
Romeo would marry Rosaline, while Paris will marry Juliet. The two main characters appear as respecting
the wishes of their parents and traditions, but in their heart, they loved each other. Romeos decision to attend
the party held by the Capulets fuels anger in Tybalt, with the latter suggesting the desire to kill the former. It
was later evident that Romeo was the one to kill Tybalt, especially after the latter kills the formers friend
Mercutio. The death of Tybalt made the two lovers believe that they would live happily thereafter. In reality,
Juliet marriage to Paris was still impending, with this forcing her to take a sleeping potion to fake her death.
Romeo reacts by killing Paris and self before Juliet wakes up from her sleep, she later kills herself upon
realizing the turnout of events. The lovers were trapped by their fate.
In the entire play, all characters stood out because of their diverse roles. However, the most
interesting character was that of Juliet.
