A recent article by the Wall street journal revealed the a market failure owing to the decline of energy stocks in the U.S. Statistics by S&P 500 indicate the sale of stock was significantly due to fluctuations in energy shares as well as the decline in the prices of oil. According to Prang (2018), energy stocks in the US were the lowest of S&P 500 sectors. The stocks of lower oil prices declined by 1.20 % while crude oil also declined by 4.20% index by selling at $ 68.
