C.S. Lewis, a Christian apologist, and Oxford professors life left a legacy of lectures, literature, as

well as letters that still have an impact on Christian and intellectual society even today.  Of all his works, Lewis personally favored his work Till We Have Faces which he believed was his best work among the public and critics though he considered it an absolute flop. Till We Have Faces concerns, two sisters, Psyche and Orual who were the daughters of the King of Glome. Orual is the book narrator the oldest of the sisters. Orual is ugly while her sister is beautiful. The book can be described as a giant theodicy that tries to explain how evil fits into the overall plan that Gods have for the world.

Orual starts the narrative by pointing out that the purpose of the book is accuse the gods, especially

the god who lives on the Grey mountain (Lewis 119). Orual questions the god's silence throughout the text. She questions the reason why the gods do not what to show his face to his people. She believes that the gods are determined to destroy all of her happiness and thus set out to prove it by writing the case against the Gods
