The issue of gun ownership and control has been a point of discussion for years because of the tragic
accidents and deaths that have occurred in the past. According to Loria (2018), the U.S has more than
38,000-gun death each year and about 85,000 injuries also from the guns. This rates of death and injuries
show that there is an underlying problem with gun control policies or maybe the behaviors. The gun violence
rate and domestic abuse from owning any weapon contribute to the high rate of deaths and injuries from
guns. Gun ownership should be restricted because it will reduce the number of deaths, injuries and will
create a new type of life-based on stability and safety.
Do you know that gun violence is the most common cause of death in the United States of America?
There are about 36,000 of people killed by gunshot in 2015 only. The gun murder rates are growing each
year in U.S 25 times from any other nations (Loria, 2018). There are many laws in the United States relating
to gun ownership. One of the laws is the right to carry firearms which means that who are allowed to own a
gun should have a specific reason to be allowed to carry a gun. However, it is a good idea or law but like any
laws, many people opposed that law for common reasons such as to deter crime. This law implies that there
will be a lot of citizens owning guns thus motivation to engage in criminal activities. This idea is not new
but based on an analysis in 1997 and the analysis shows an opposite effect to this law (Lubin et al., 2010)
. The analysis title was saving lives by regulating guns and it shows a lot of information that has been
collected by (Cook & Donohue, 2017). Some of the evidence about the 36,000 gun-related deaths includes;
homicide, suicide, and accidents. Also, other evidence from the analysis that shows the gun suicide rate in
the U.S is 8 times as high. A recent study shows that such laws increased firearm rate homicides by 9%
(Gebelhoff, 2018).
The Barring of people convicted of domestic abuse from owning guns has a huge effect on the
number of gun deaths. An analysis by Shashkevich (2017), found that gun murder from the female intimate
partners decreased by 17%. However, the findings established that lifting of owning guns is increasing and
besides that guns laws are not reducing any violence killing of female domestic partners. The author here
hopes his work will be helpful to measure and understand the impact of gun ownership on the on what rate
of reducing gun violence. By his analyzing and studies after a period of time, the author found that the
government in the U.S should create a new type of techniques showing the bad sides from the legal changes.
