Research on Electronic Health Records The aim of the study was to examine the impact of implementing an Electronic Health Record (EHR) program in improving the safety and quality of healthcare services in hospitals. The study used rural hospitals as a professional point of reference because of the laxity in implementing the HITECH Act which attempts to use the EHR as a critical tool for improving medical services. Rural hospitals fail to fully achieve this program due to logistical or financial reason yet such institutions will provide an underlying reason as to why the EHR remains successful. Various cases proved that the functionality of the proposal of EHR as the solution to the current situation in several hospitals.
