Each short writing assignment is designed to encourage you to review the readings in a particular section of the course. Your goal is to integrate and clarify authors' concepts and arguments. This exercise provides you with an opportunity to develop writing skills that will serve you in whichever career you choose. Please structure your essay around a thesis statement or argument that you develop independently. This statement serves as your short essay's spinal column... or as its scaffolding. You do not need to summarize all the readings. Nor should you narrate a personalized response, or deploy a negative polemical attack. In this short paper, I would like you to generate a unifying analysis that allows you to tie together some of the most interesting arguments and concepts presented by the articles in a relatively harmonious and dynamic form. The paper should only be 1000-1500 words long, single spaced, twelve-point font.
