For your Final Exam, I would like for you to think about all of the activities you do in a typical day.  Choose 3 systems (sleep, vision, movement, etc) and describe how they function during very specific activities. Your focus should be on brain function, neurons, neurotransmitters, genetics, etc...and how they function during each activity. There are several ways to approach this task: for one system, you could describe the first thing you see when you awake in the morning and how that information travels to brain areas to make sense of information, etc... You can choose chapters and systems that we did not cover if you like.

For EACH system you will need to include a MINIMUM of 6 terms completely and thoroughly explained. Keep in mind that this is a minimum. It may require many more terms to explain the concepts thoroughly. You should choose your terms carefully to ensure that they adequately demonstrate your understanding. No superficial terms will be counted toward the minimum. For example, if you are describing vision and try to use "the eye" as one of your terms, it will not be counted.

Each system requires a 500 word MINIMUM. Again, this is a minimum amount. To explain the concepts thoroughly may require many more words.

The main goal of this task is to DEMONSTRATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING of the concepts learned in this class, and to apply them to your life. You will do this by giving very specific examples (what exactly do you see, what movements are you performing, etc...), and then integrate terms and concepts from class fully explained and demonstrate through your carefully chosen examples. This task will require some time and thought.
