Topic: Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) formerly known as Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975

Briefly present ideas for the points to be developed. The document should contain enough supporting details to give a good idea of what the research paper will cover.

I. The deliverables for this initial topic must contain the following specific information:

1. A) Briefly describe the selected topic as it relates to legal and ethical issues within the school. The topic must be related to the field of school psychology. The description should be specific enough to present an overview of what the literature review will cover and to allow the instructor to assess the acceptability of the project. B) Provide supporting information as to why this particular topic was chosen for the literature review.

2. Provide a thesis statement, problem statement, or research question that will guide the literature review. The thesis statement, problem statement, or research question must be related to legal and ethical issues within the school.

3. Identify and describe a specific theory or theories related to the chosen topic, which serves as the foundation for the proposed research. State the theory and explicitly articulate how this theory pertains to the proposed literature review.

4. Present ideas for the concept, point, or thesis to be developed.  Present the main ideas that support the topic selection.

5. Include a literature summary that lists the number of articles available on the topic and explains the search strategy.
