Furor is a Spanish word meaning fury or rage. In the two books of The Aeneid by Virgil, it seems as though the destructive effects are restricted to the reactions of the gods and goddesses, mainly since the opening and ending texts portray acts of fury. Although the end is that a hero emerges, the theme of furor carries to fruition. Many people may argue that fury as a human trait has adverse consequences on either the oppressors or victims. However, unlike other tormentors who express acts of rage, Aeneas takes a different approach.
