Scenario 1: Ahmed is a network technician in AB School in Muscat, they have LAN inside the campus, and he looks after the connectivity and internet access. Mostly he will check the communication devices and its vulnerability. students can access to the internet and share resources such as hardware and software resources. Based on the above scenario answers the following questions. Which type of a network is selected by the school and why? What is the network topology that could be used on the selected network? Discuss the network requirement to gets the computer networked inside the campus? Identify the communication devices that could be used on the network? 5. If the AB school is operated as international branch in Egypt what type of a network could be chosen and why, discuss the connection methods? Scenario 2: Muscat university is connected to the internet to provide a backbone for student’s alumni and library. They have online liaison program collaborated with the industry as alumni they create online shopping sites. They communicate daily with lecturers via email and university mobile app which is called LMS app. Online library is available for students to search and download books and they can borrow books online. the university establish recently video conference so students and staff can easily communicate and chat. Scenario 3: Sara works as computer security specialist in Muscat University, she got a lot of complaint from students and staff one of our campus computers was sending out spam emails. She checked it out, and the reports were true: a hacker had installed a program on the computer that made it automatically send out tons of spam email without the computer owner’s knowledge. IT department deals with the situation and they send security guidelines circulated for all the users in order to protect their computers from security risks. What is the definition of computer security risks and list at least three of them? Discuss the security guideline that users must follow to protect their computers from risk?
