If I were to give the earth a new name, the most suitable name I would have chosen is Zoe . This is a Greek name that means life. Despite the numerous astronomical studies that have been done none has provided credible evidence on whether there is life on any other planet or stars in space. Although there are claims that other bodies such as the moon and planet Mars could support life, there is no evidence to back these claims. The positioning of the earth on the solar system makes it a source of life; hence, the name Zoe. The distance is just perfect such that it is not too far from the sun or too close for temperatures to be unbearable (Philippsborn). The earth also has other conditions such as the presence of water and oxygen, which are essential for life. This is unlike other planets or stars. Human beings have lived on earth for several decades and despite the numerous activities that they engage in destroying the earth, the earth still gives them a chance of living quality life. The resilience that it has in sustaining lives is unbelievable.
