Andr Bazin's "The Ontology of the Photographic Image" makes an argument about the underlying motivations for the creation of realistic images of the world. At the same time, it points to film as having particular qualities that give it a special relationship with reality. Is Bazin's argument convincing to you? In what ways it it persuasive, or in what ways is it not? How do your own experiences with cinema correspond to Bazin's claims?

What was your experience of Certified Copy ( Abbas Kiarostami 2010) like? How do you see the film relating  to Bazin's ideas?
