You will present and defend a unique, critical thesis on one of the positions that we have explored. You must fully reconstruct the authors position, thoroughly explain the issue that you are raising for this position, consider the possible responses the author might offer, and explain the outcome of this dialectic.  You will need to stake a strong thesis from the outset of the paper and spend the rest of the paper defending this thesis within the structure just detailed.  Keep in mind that your thesis should be based on a critical objection, meaning you should be challenging the structure of the argument you are exploring, not just disagreeing with the author!  And your entire paper should be focused on the defense of this thesisyou will not pass if you do not defend a thesis.
