Drew Peterson is a retired Bolingbrook, Illinois police sergeant who was convicted in 2012 for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. The conviction came following reports about the disappearance of his fourth wife, Ann Cales Peterson (Walberg, 2016). Although her family and the police suspect foul play, she has never been found. However, her disappearance motivated the police to review the death of Petersons third wife, which occurred in 2004. On that fateful day, her bruised body was found in a dry bathtub. A large gash was seen on her scalp. Her death had been concluded to be an accidental drowning. However, following the disappearance of Stacy Ann fueled the need by police to review the case of Savio to determine whether there might have been any form of foul play. A second autopsy showed evidence of a struggle. Thus, Peterson was indicted for the murder of Stacy Ann and was sentenced to 38 years in prison in 2013.
