- Two likely
short-term results if the conflict is not addressed
If the conflict between the police and the
management is not solved, it will have two primary long-term issues. One, the
police morale for work will diminish. The overtime usually pays accts as a
motivation for the police to put more effort into their practice. Once the
payment is cut, the enthusiasm to work will reduce drastically. Another
significant outcome is an increased cases of absenteeism and ‘sick-outs.’ Since
the police are just human, lack of moral ate job forces one to find ways to
avoid going to work. Because every work has its rules and regulations, missing
work without proper reason might attract severe consequences. Therefore, for
the police to avoid the consequences of missing work, one will call in in
specific days claiming to be sick. In the end, the policing in the city will
face a severe challenge that can escalate into insecurity.
