Your Name Full Address All contact information Date Department of Public Health Chicago Dear Director, I am writing to you as a public health student and a resident of Chicago to ask that you look into the matter of the increasing number of deaths associated with Healthcare-associated infection (HCAIs). I believe that medical practice should be for the good of the general population and people should feel safe while going to health institutions but instead it has turned to create fear among residents of Chicago with most opting for home care-based treatment. Deaths related to HCAIs have increased 3 folds this year as compared to the previous years. Those admitted with relatively less serious illnesses get to develop complications and others are not lucky enough to get out alive. This current situation has made the public lose faith in the health system. This endemic increases the economic burden by prolonging the stay in hospital increasing cost which becomes unaffordable to some individuals, unnecessary deaths which can otherwise be prevented, and longtime disability.
