The Briefing Notes For a number of the class sessions during the semester, you will be required to prepare, and submit, a 3-5 page Briefing Note (BN) for the forthcoming guest presentation.

How to Proceed:

1. read the assigned materials and watch videos (if listed).

2. Prepare the BN.

What to Include in the BN (4 headings, paragraph form in each heading)

1. Identify the major issues that are raised in the readings and videos.

2. Discuss the major points that are made in the materials about these issues.

3. Note the implications of these major points for policing.

4. List in paragraph form; 3 questions that arise from the assigned materials that you would ask.

Use the assigned readings/videos only; no outside materials required.

BNs are to be in Word format and with 1.5 line spacing. Must cite every single source

Use any citation format you like. Just as long as you cite the materials you are using. The BN should be comprehensive and make mention of the assigned materials; obviously, it doesn’t have to be in depth as it’s only 3-5 pages.
