Essay 3: Argumentative Essay

Option 1: 

While some students and faculty at HCC are excited about the potential Google Glass offers, others are uncomfortable and strongly oppose its use on campus. Should Google Glass be allowed on HCC's campus? Write to HCC's administration to convince them of your point of view acknowledging at least one counterargument others might have against your position.

Option 2:

New technologies are being invented and refined constantly in the world we live in today. While many of these technologies were created for the good of society, some have impacted the world in negative ways. Discover is a magazine creating a special issue that reflects on the changes in technology over the last 100 years. Write an article for this special issue arguing one invention the world would be better without. Give reasons to support your argument and acknowledge at least one counterargument others might have against your position.                                                          

Option 3:

Most people would agree that technology is a tool, which can be used either positively or negatively. In order to gain the maximum benefit from technology, and avoid some of its negative aspects, technology should be used responsibly. HCC is creating a packet to give to incoming students during orientation, and they have asked you to contribute your advice for how students should use technology. Write to other university students arguing what they should do in their personal lives to use technology responsibly, acknowledging at least one counterargument others might have against your position.
