Comp 1 Argumentative Essay: Toulmin or Aristotle

Congratulations! You have made it to the end. We have reached the point to write our last out-of-class essay.

The last essay is a researched argumentative essay. As usual, you will need to write this essay in MLA Style and Format using Times New Roman fonts, 12 points. This essay should be between three to five pages in length not counting the works cited page. You must upload your essay to Turnitin.

As for your prompt for this essay, you need to choose one of the topics from the list below. Furthermore, you will need to integrate two secondary sources to support your argument. These secondary sources must come from the HCC library databases. I suggest using the Opposing Viewpoint database. You will find that it will save you a lot of time searching for articles. Your articles cannot be any older than the year 2007. These articles must also be peer-reviewed,full-text articles. You may use two internet sources that can be verified.  

You may find it helpful to review the CRAAP website that you find on my Learning web page. It is a great resource that can guide you in finding your secondary sources. 

You must write your essay using the Toulmin model of argument or the Classical model of argument.

1. Euthanasia should or should not be legalized
2. Capital punishment should or should not be legalized.
3. The United States should offer free college education. 
4. Is an academic education better than a workforce education?
5. The use of social media should be a standard in collegiate curriculum.
