Copayment. This type of cost sharing requires the patient to pay a fixed amount before the treatment then the medical insurance policy takes over. First, copays are friendly to the patient as the amount is between 10$ to 40$. On the other hand, it serves the purpose of overexploitation of the policy since the patient will be required to pay for services such as office visits to doctors, emergency room allocation as well as prescription drugs to be issued.
