Apple Pay makes use of near-field communications (NFC) to power contactless payments. Apple Pay is known to be the most secure as the retailers don’t get information about your credit card which is also enabled by Samsung Pay. However, Samsung does not make use of near-field communications for contactless payments but makes use of a magnetic stripe reader to make contactless payments (Chen et al., 2015). On the other hand, Google pay makes use of NFC but does provide credit card information to themselves even though they don’t make such information available to the retailers.
