Do's The first responders should proceed to the crime scene fast and safe to find the person responsible for the act and to prevent removal or destruction of evidence. The crime scene should be secured.no person should be allowed to go in if he or she is not involved in the investigation to avoid any unnecessary contamination. The victims should be studied. Everything about them should be learned, including where they eat, go like, dislike, and hate because they are the most significant piece of evidence. The information or facts need to be shared with the investigative team. Any ideas and thoughts should be shared with the coroner, patrol officers on the crime scene, crime scene techs, and other investigators. The investigator should be open minded when it comes to finding what may be the evidence. It is because one may not know the causal factor of the crime until proven. Don'ts’ Nothing should be assumed. Every victim and information in the scene should be considered and investigated. The suspect should not be assumed that he or she has left the crime scene. Every person should be considered as a suspect until proven. Every person should not be permitted to leave the region until they are interviewed. They should all be treated as witnesses of the crime. People should not be allowed to take videos and photos at the scene since it will jeopardize the investigation. Failure to take enough photographs and notes. Many photographs should be taken while the scene is intact for more evidence.
