Trees and plants are critical in various processes involved in the earth. The processes consists of carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle, and the water cycle. The plants are essential in striking a balance in every period. Through transpiration, the trees and plants contribute to the water cycle. In transpiration, the plants evaporate water vapor into the atmosphere. The rate of transpiration is dependent of the area surface of the leaf and the current weather. In a dense forest, 'steam' can be observed at the canopies of the rain forests (Schlesinger, William and Scott 34). The water vapor later condenses in the atmosphere and falls as rainfall. When deforestation takes place, it affects the weather and distrusts the cycles. A complete understanding helps in the maintaining of such an eco-system and preserving natural habitat that contributes directly to cycles. Climate change is a severe issue with the extreme weather conditions that are as a result of climate change experienced in the world. Solutions are needed to deal with such adverse effects on the environment. A solution crucial in achieving sustainability lies in technology. For instance, green technological solutions are in place to mitigate and adapt. Innovations are necessary to achieve sustainability. Traditional forms of technology, such as the use of solar, are ways to go to solving issues of heating and electricity use. Research and development are key in coming up with greener forms of sustainability.
