Zacharias’ argument that the world’s political position is in a mess is true. This claim is because the bombing of the U.S (the global most powerful nation) signify that dialogue is failing. The subsequent invasion by the U.S in the terrorists’ countries indicates that dialogue has minimal impact in the contemporary world. Additionally, the threats by nations such as Iran and North Korea because of their nuclear powers suggest that the global governing bodies have lost powers. Previously, there was the respect of the world bodies that govern issues such as atomic possessions. In continuation, the rise of rag-tag groups and the conflicts in regions like Gaza is the other evidence of failing global political position. No state is willing to bring the two warring factions in Gaza to a negotiating table to bring to an end the bloodshed. Venezuela is also rising to be one of the worst countries in Latin America, with little effects on the international community to compel President Maduro to step down form disputed election. For Russia, despite the end of communism, there is still distrust by the west on how the state carries out its activities and international relations.
