Question 1
Throughout a human's lifespan various developmental patterns like change,
behavioral stability, and growth occur throughout the human lifespan. Nurses
touch people at every point of their lifespans. Therefore, for nurses to have
accurate medication for their patients throughout their lifespans, a patient's
size, weight, and renal function are taken into account specifically while
calculating the majority of drugs (Cohen
et al., 2021). Patient size and age are significant factors in pediatric
patients. To protect the health and well-being of the patients, nurses must
take a variety of lifespan concerns into account while discussing vaccines and
wellness. The following are some of the lifespan considerations I will apply in
the nursing process concerning immunization and wellness to infants, school-age
children, younger adults, and older adults.
For the infants, I will ensure that the child is up to date on all
essential vaccines due to infants' underdeveloped immune systems, which make
them more sensitive to infections and diseases. This will be accomplished by
ensuring that the timing and spacing of vaccines and any potential adverse reactions
or side effects are considered because of infants' rapid physical and cognitive
development (Doenges, Moorhouse
& Murr, 2022). I will conduct regular wellness check-ups to monitor
their growth and development. I will assess and track the infant's weight,
height, head circumference, and developmental milestones. The early discovery
of health issues will help me give necessary therapies and referrals to
specialists.
Additionally, I will consider the infant's family and environment's
social and cultural setting. The family's attitudes on immunizations and
wellness may be influenced by their beliefs, values, and practices. I will
therefore need to practice cultural competency and communication to give the
family the right kind of assistance and education.
For the school-age children, I will educate them on the importance of maintaining
a healthy lifestyle to develop a robust immune system and ensure strict
adherence to the timing and spacing of immunization. I will also consider the child’s
capability to understand and retain information since the school-age child is
at a critical stage of cognitive and social development in their lifespan. I
will achieve this by providing age-appropriate education and mentoring healthy
behavior to uphold wellness (Edelman
& Kudzma, 2021). Additionally, I will pinpoint potential health
issues and provide appropriate interventions to enhance their well-being. This
will entail frequent check-ups to monitor their growth and evaluate their mental
health and social relationships to ensure their emotional well-being.
I will consider their lifestyle and risk factors for younger adults when providing
immunization recommendations, educating them on the importance of maintaining a
healthy lifestyle to build a robust immune system and offering preventative
care such as cancer screening. This is because younger adults require different
immunizations based on their health status, occupation, and travel history (Palit et al., 2021). Additionally,
major life events frequently affect younger adults, including leaving home,
beginning a profession, and starting a family. I will advise and assist in upholding
healthy habits, controlling stress, and supporting mental wellness.
For the older adults as people get older, their immune systems
deteriorate, leaving them more prone to infections and illnesses, when it comes
to the older adults. I will also ensure that senior citizens receive all
required vaccines, including shingles, pneumonia, and flu (Ehni & Wahl, 2020). For
older folks, wellness is as essential as vaccines. Additionally, I will urge
them to lead healthy lifestyles that include a balanced diet, regular exercise,
and stress management skills because doing so will help them avoid chronic
illnesses and enhance their general health.
Question
2
The goal of developmental guidance is to educate and support adolescents
according to their developmental stage (Edelman, Kudzma & Mandle, 2014). Adolescents are in the
process of growing up. Therefore I will need to talk to them about things like
changing bodies, developing sexually, and finding their identities. I will also
advise on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including proper nutrition,
exercise, and rest. I will also educate them on the use of drugs and alcohol
and the possible dangers of engaging in sexual activity, such as pregnancy and
STDs.
Two aspects of situational advice are identifying potential hazards and
assisting teenagers in managing them (Potter et al., 2017). In order to uncover potential dangers,
such as substance misuse or mental health conditions, I will evaluate the
adolescent's environment, including their family, school, and peer group. I
will then offer advice on healthy coping strategies, such as stress management,
and helpful sites for getting help when necessary. The adolescent's cultural,
social, and personal issues that may affect their health and well-being must
also be considered. For example, I will have to advise teenagers from various
cultural backgrounds on how to communicate and form healthy relationships.

Infants: Infants have developing immune systems and are susceptible to vaccine-preventable diseases. Therefore, nurses should ensure that infants receive recommended vaccinations according to the recommended schedule. Infants may also require special preparation before receiving vaccinations, such as providing pain relief medication before the procedure.
School-age children: School-age children may have a fear of needles and may require education and reassurance before receiving vaccinations. Nurses should also consider the school schedule when administering vaccines, as some vaccines may require multiple doses or boosters.
Younger adults: Younger adults may have competing priorities and may need to be reminded about the importance of preventive health measures, such as vaccinations. Nurses should also consider the individual's lifestyle and potential exposures to vaccine-preventable diseases, such as travel or occupation.
Older adults: Older adults may have a weaker immune system and may require additional vaccinations, such as the pneumococcal vaccine and shingles vaccine. Nurses should also be aware of the potential for adverse reactions to vaccines in older adults and may need to monitor for any side effects.
